How to Solve the PUBG Won’t Launch Problem?

PUBG Corporation created and distributed Play Unknown’s Battlegrounds, often known as PUBG. The game was published in December 2017 and quickly gained a large following due to its unique gameplay style. However, several reports of customers being unable to begin the game have lately been received. Nothing happens when you run the game executable, and it doesn’t appear in the process management.

The reasons behind PUBG not launching differ from one person to the next. Occasionally the problem is caused by a recent game update; sometimes there is a software conflict on your computer, and sometimes the problem is caused by out-of-date or missing files in your game or other Microsoft products. Whatever the case may be, you should attempt the solutions we’ve provided and see if they help you get out of problems.

What is preventing PUBG from being launched?

After getting several reports from multiple customers, we decided to examine the topic and design a series of remedies that fixed the problem for the majority of our users. In addition, we investigated the causes of the mistake and listed them below.

  • Missing Files: In order for the game to work properly, all of its files must be present and undamaged. The game will not be able to launch properly if certain files are missing or corrupted.
  • Files that are corrupt: There are several files in the “Content>Paks” folder that create problems with the game and prohibit it from starting.
  • Affinity: Due to a fault in the game, if all of the CPU cores are used at the startup, the game may not launch successfully.
  • Overclocking: If your computer’s graphics card or CPU is overclocked, it will create some incompatibilities inside the game. If either the GPU or the CPU is overclocked, the game will not launch correctly, resulting in the issue.
  • VC Redist C++: To play the game, you must have all versions of the program installed and operating properly. The game will not function correctly if any of the versions are missing from your machine.

Solution 1: Check for missing files.

To work properly, the game requires all of its files to be present and undamaged. The game will not be able to launch properly if certain files are missing or corrupted.

  • Log in to your Steam account by opening the client and logging in.
  • Right-click on the game from the list in the left pane and choose “Library.”
  • Click on the “Local Files” tab in “Properties.”
  • Wait for the client to finish the procedure after selecting “Verify the integrity of Game Files.”
  • Run the game and see whether the problem still exists.

Solution 2: Delete Configuration Files.

Some files in the “Content>Paks” folder cause issues with the game and prevent it from starting. As a result, we’ll delete certain files from the “Paks” folder at this stage. As a result:

  • Go to the installation folder for the game.
  • Open the “Content” folder after the “Tslgame” folder.
  • Now access the “Paks” folder and remove any files that do not begin with the word “Pakchunk.”
  • Open Steam, log in to your account, then repeat the game’s verification procedure as instructed previously.
  • Run the game and see whether the problem still exists.

Solution 3: Affinity Shifting.

Because of a fault in the game, if all of the CPU cores are utilized during the startup, the game may not launch successfully. As a result, in this stage, we’ll change the game’s “affinity.”

  • By right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting “Task Manager,” you may access the “Task Manager.”
  • To see the app use information, go to the “Details” page.
  • Log in to your Steam account after opening the app.
  • Then choose “library” and “PUBG.”
  • Select “play” and keep a close eye on the task manager.
  • When “TslGame.exe” appears, right-click it and choose “Set Affinity.”
  • Check the “CPU 0” option instead of the “All Processors” box.
  • Allow the game to begin and observe whether the problem remains.
  • If the game starts normally, wait until it gets to the main menu before going back to the “task manager,” right-clicking on “TslGame.exe” in the details window, and selecting “Set Affinity.”
  • Check “All Processors” once again.
  • You may now play the game normally and begin a match, but you must remember to return the affinity to “CPU 0” before exiting the match.

Solution 4: VC Redist C++ Installation.

All versions of the program must be installed and operational for the game to run properly. The game will not function correctly if any of the versions are missing from your machine. As a result, we’ll download and install the VC Redist C++ in this stage.

  • Visual Studio 2017 is available for download.
  • Install the program when it has been downloaded, or replace it if it has already been installed.
  • Visual Studio 2015 is available for download.
  • Run the game after installing both pieces of software to determine whether the problem still exists.

Solution 5: Overclocking is disabled.

It is advised that you remove any overclocking from your CPU or GPU before attempting to run the game. If the problem is resolved, you must play the game without overclocking since overclocking might cause difficulties and conflicts with specific game aspects, resulting in the game failing to start correctly.
