There are still a few months before the 2022 iPhone 14 models are ready for delivery, but since these smartphones are expected to get considerable changes, we’ve been hearing rumors Since before the iPhone 13 models were introduced, people have been talking about them.
In 2022, Apple will change iPhone sizes, and the 5.4-inch iPhone mini will be phased out due to consumer dissatisfaction. Following the disappointing sales of the iPhone mini, Apple is expected to concentrate on bigger iPhone sizes for its flagship handsets, with a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, a 6.1-inch iPhone On the way are the iPhone 14 Pro, a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max, & a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max.
IPhone 14 release date
Apple has yet to say anything about the iPhone 14, let alone when it will be released. On the 14th of September 2021, the second Tuesday of the month, the iPhone 13 broke cover. Apple seems to prefer the first or second Tuesday in September, implying that the iPhone 14 might be released on September 6th or 13th, 2022.
Apple’s events are normally hosted in the company’s Apple Park headquarters in California, and they begin around 10 a.m. Pacific Time, or 6 p.m. GMT / 4 a.m. AEST. In March, Apple is scheduled to have its first event of 2022, but don’t expect a sneak peek at the iPhone 14. Instead, Apple’s long-awaited AirPods Pro 2, iPhone SE 3, and new iPad Air might be released.
Price of the iPhone 14
The pricing of the iPhone 14 is yet to be announced. However, given that the iPhone 13 begins at £679 / $699 / AUS1199, we anticipate the iPhone 14 will be priced similarly. The iPhone 13 launched in the UK for £20 cheaper than the iPhone 12. Fingers crossed that the downward trend continues, but if one rumor is to be believed, it is wishful thinking.
According to sources, it comes from iDropNews, which says that increasing fees are being explored internally at Apple. The basic iPhone 14 would cost $799, whereas the larger iPhone 14 Max would cost $899 (about £650, AU$1200). The Pro model would be priced at $1099, which is $100 more than the iPhone 13 Pro’s $999, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max would be priced at $1199, which is $100 more than the current iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Design of iPhone 14
Apple is trying to remove the notch that houses the Face ID technology from some iPhone 14 models. When it was first debuted in 2017, the notch was a divisive design choice, and it hasn’t altered much since then, with the exception of a size shift with the iPhone 13. In March 2021, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the 2022 iPhone models would be devoid of a notch, instead opting for a hole-punch design similar to that seen on several Android phones.
Since Kuo’s forecast, new speculations have surfaced that have cast doubt on the front design of the iPhone 14 Pro variants. The camera notch on the iPhone 14 Pro versions will be pill-shaped, according to leaker Dylandkt, rather than a hole-punch design. Ross Young, a display expert, went on to say that he expects to see both a pill-shaped and a circular cutout. The Face ID dot projector will most likely be housed in the circular cutout, while the front camera, Face ID infrared camera, and potentially other components will be housed in the pill-shaped cutout.
Apple may also be considering placing part of the Face ID technology underneath the iPhone’s display, which would reduce the size of the cuts required and free up more screen area on the device’s front. According to both analyst Ross Young and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is working on an under-display Face ID solution, although it may not be ready for usage in 2022 handsets.
Various Sizes
In 2022, there will be no 5.4-inch iPhone since Apple is discontinuing the “small” series due to poor sales. Apple is anticipated to concentrate on larger-sized iPhones in the future, with the iPhone 13 mini being the last of the tiny phones. Apple is likely to release a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max, with the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max replacing the tiny model.
Titanium
According to a JP Morgan Chase investor report, Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 14 models would also include a high-end titanium alloy chassis design. Apple had already utilized titanium in the Apple Watch, but this would be the first time the material has been used in an iPhone. Titanium is more scratch-resistant, stronger, and more corrosion-resistant than both steel and aluminum.
Cooling
High-end iPhone models are expected to use a vapor chamber thermal system starting in 2022, which Apple is believed to be “aggressively testing.” High-end iPhones will need the VC thermal system because of their higher computational power and better 5G connection rates. There are currently smartphones with vapor chamber cooling technology from Samsung, Razer, and LG, designed to keep a device cool while under a lot of stress. It’s uncertain if the vapor chamber thermal system will fulfill Apple’s stringent criteria, but the company is attempting to improve it, and high-end models may soon incorporate it.
Specification
Technology for Cameras:
The Ultra-Wide camera in all 2022 iPhones might be improved, and there’s a slight chance Apple could adopt “periscope” lens technology, which could enable optical zoom up to 10x. Other smartphone manufacturers have already incorporated periscope lens technology, but Apple is said to be having problems since most of the technology is protected by patents held by other firms.
The iPhone 14 Pro’s 48-megapixel camera will be able to shoot 12-megapixel photos, most likely using a method known as pixel-binning. Pixel binning improves low-light sensitivity by combining data from numerous tiny pixels on the camera’s image sensor into one “super-pixel.” When the lighting is excellent, the iPhone 14 Pro models may be able to shoot full 48-megapixel images, but when the lighting is low, it will employ the pixel binning method to produce a higher-quality 12-megapixel shot that utilizes the 48-megapixel lens.
A16 Microprocessor:
Every every iPhone version comes with a new A-series processor, and we’re anticipating Apple’s A16 chip in the iPhone 14. The iPhone 14’s next-generation A-series processor will allegedly be manufactured using TSMC’s “NP4” technology, which the firm describes as the “third significant upgrade in the 5-nanometer family.”
RAM
According to expert Jeff Pu, the iPhone 14 version will have 6GB RAM. According to the Chinese supply chain speculations, the iPhone 14 Pro variants might include up to 8GB RAM.
Radio Frequency Chip
According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Apple has bought 5G radio frequency (RF) chips from TSMC, with Apple utilizing its own technology rather than Samsung’s. The chips are said to be made using TSMC’s 6-nanometer technology, which allows for smaller packaging and reduced power consumption. This might result in longer battery life and compatibility for WiFi 6E while utilizing 5G technology.
Satellite Internet Access
The Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 supports certain satellite connection functions. Apple wants to deploy satellite-based emergency features with the modem, allowing users to send messages in emergency circumstances and report significant incidents in places where cellular service is unavailable.
Emergency Message by Satellite will enable users to text emergency services and contacts utilizing a satellite network when there is no cellular or WiFi connection. Along with SMS and iMessage, a new communication system will have gray message bubbles. The length of messages will be limited. Another feature will allow people to utilize satellite networks to notify serious catastrophes such as airline disasters and fires. These features are still in the works and are expected to debut in 2022 at the earliest.
6E WiFi
WiFi 6E will provide the high-speed wireless transmissions required for AR and VR experiences, and it will also be utilized in a mixed reality headgear that might be released in 2022.
WiFi 6E uses the 6GHz frequency in addition to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands to enhance bandwidth and reduce interference while still providing the speed gain and low latency that the WiFi 6 standard provides.
2TB of storage space
Apple established a new 1TB storage tier with the iPhone 13 Pro models, and reports say that with the iPhone 14 update, Apple may boost it even higher to 2TB. This rumor comes from a source that isn’t usually credible, so take it with a grain of salt until a more reputable source confirms it.
